BLUE MOUNTAINS-THE THREE SISTERS:SYDNEY

IMG_7176Blue Mountains is one of the key feature of Sydney. There are many stories behind the formation of these Blue Mountains. And locals believes in all those stories. Three sisters is one of the story. I will talk later about those stories, but before that would like to talk about point of interest at blue mountains, must visit places, things to do and so and so.

Blue Mountains is around 2 hours drive from Sydney City. The options are- (1) Rent a car and drive, follow the navigation. (2) Book a car along with drive and who can be your tour guide (3) option which I choose, book a tour with any tour company. Which includes pickup from selected points, guided tour, Morning snacks etc.

We booked the tour with Viator, and ours were the first pickup at 7:20 AM and last pickup was at 8:30 AM. We reached at Blue Mountains around 11 AM as we stopped at River side for snacks. As I said above, it was guided tour and our driver cum tour guide was telling all famous stories about the Blue Mountains. The one hour cruise was also included in this tour. It was good and comfortable cruise and as the sun was sating at that time, the colorful clouds and were the everyone’s attraction.

TOUR PACKAGE DETAILS: We had booked our tour with Viator. They have many types of tour for Blur Mountains. We had booked day tour and they charged 164 AUD per person. Which includes- Hotel Pickup (selected hotels), Morning Tea, Small Bus, Tour guide cum driver, Nepean River Side visit, Blue Mountains, Three sisters. You have to pay extra for cable car and tram ride.

NEPEAN RIVER

Our first stop at the Nepean River for morning tea/juice and some snacks. Also, the point of money collection who have not paid online. And we were one of those :). Nepean river is a beautiful site for camping. The beautiful plain and green field with some shades, benches with chairs, play area for small kids and with comfort rooms facility. We reached Nepean river at 10:30 am and few people were already there, arranging their tents and started cooking their meals.IMG_0097IMG_0124

BLUE MOUNTAINS

We reached at Kings tableland at 11:30 am. A beautiful breath taking view of Blue Mountains amazed all the tour members. The wind was very cold and fast, which was stopping us to go near the edge. Our Guide also demonstrated colorful rocks. And he told us that, they use these rocks for painting. 21752273_1845186425499121_1182504358623479053_n

THREE SISTERS ROCK FORMATION

Our next stop was at the Three sisters rock formation. There are three slim rocks one after other, which is famous as Three sisters. It is the story of three sisters and their father. The father turned his daughters into rocks to save them from evils. The beautiful view from the top and walk options also available to the Three sisters rock formation.IMG_7207

WENT-WORTH FALLS AND FEATHERDALE WILD LIFE PARK

The view of Went-worth falls available when you are traveling via cable car. The expense of the cable are is to be born by individual, as it is not included in the tour package. After crossing the wentworth falls, we reached featherdale wild life park. It was the beautiful forest walk till the SCENIC RAILWAY. The steepest railway in the world. I was very scared during my 3 minutes journey in Scenic Railway. I really said thanks to god when it stopped at the station. 🙂21762008_1845186988832398_7537052411527037479_n

The other places where we stopped were KATOOMBA FALLS National park and LEURA. Leura village is full of mini cafe’s and restaurants. The tour guide will tell you about few famous cafe’s for lunch. En-route home pass by Homebush Bay, which was home to the 2000 Olympic Games.

Our bus journey ends at Parramatta River bay, from where we board the cruise back to Circular Quay.
