About the Recipe

Butter Naan is one of the famous India Bread and they can be enjoyed with all kind of curry’s and vegetables dishes. It is very easy, simple and quick recipe. You don’t have to rest the dough for 2 hours or more. It’s need only 10-15 minutes resting and soft and delicious naan will be prepared.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour, 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 cup yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp warm water
  • Butter, fresh coriander leaves, 1 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup dry all purpose flour

Stepwise Directions

Step 1- Take a big mixing bowl and add 2 cup all purpose flour, also add sugar, salt, baking powder, baking soda, yoghurt and oil as per measurement (please follow right measurement). Now mix all of this and we need to prepare soft and smooth dough. If needed then use warm water to make soft dough. In last add 1 tsp oil to collect it together and then let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Step 2 – After 15 minutes knead again for about 20-30 seconds. Then cut out one small ball size dough and roll between palms to make smooth crack free dough ball. Then dust this dough ball with dry flour and put on rolling surface. Start rolling slowly with rolling pin. Try to give an oval shape. Though round shape will not change the taste. Roll it about 5 inch oval shape then on top stick some fresh chopped coriander leaves and some sesame seeds. Then again roll it to stick sesame seeds and coriander to naan surface. Turn upside down and apply generous amount of water. This water will help naan to stick on iron tawa(flat iron pan).

Step 3 -Now place the tawa on flame and do not grease it with oil. Place water side naan on hot tawa and let it cook for about a minute or so then take tawa and turn upside down and cook naan on direct flame. So one side is stick to iron tawa and other side we are cooking on direct flame. Roast or bake until evenly cooked from all the place. Then apply butter on top of naan and remove it from tawa with help of spatula. Butter naan is ready. Make all the butter naan’s with same process.
