VRAT KE SNACKS – FASTING FOOD /. NAVRATRI FOOD RECIPE

Navratri is starting from October 7 (2021). We always look different ways of making Vrat ka Khana. I am sharing my recipe of snacks with Tea. These roasted nuts I eat with tea in morning and they keep me full for long during fast.

Roasted Fox Nuts and Tea

Navratri is starting from October 7 (2021). We always look different ways of making Vrat ka Khana. I am sharing my recipe of snacks with Tea. These roasted nuts I eat with tea in morning and they keep me full for long during fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup fox nuts, 1/4 cup cashews, 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1 1/2 tbsp clarified butter (ghee)
  • 3/4 cup water, 1 1/2 cup fresh milk, 2 tsp tea leaves
  • Sugar as per your taste
  • 1 inch ginger

Stepwise Directions

Step 1- Add 1 tbsp clarified butter in a pan and add fox nuts. Roast them for 3-4 minutes on low to medium heat or until they become crispy. Take it out in a plate when they are done. In a same pan add 1/2 tbsp ghee and add cashews. Keep the heat very low. Roast cashews on lot heat for 1-2 minutes.

Step 2 – One side cashews are roasting and we can also start making our tea. Take a clean deep pan and 3/4 cup water. Then add ginger crushed or grated. Boil ginger with water for a minute then add 2 tsp tea. Boil tea for 30 seconds then add 1 1/2 cup fresh milk.

Step 3 – On other side check cashews, and take out once done. In same pan do not add more ghee, just add almonds and roast on low heat for 2-3 minutes. On other side, tea must have started to boil, boil tea on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Also if you want to add sugar, this is the right time to add. if you have different taste then add in cup and pour the hot tea directly in a cup. 

Step 4 – Almonds must have done by now, take it out and also pour your hot tea in cups. Enjoy roasted nuts with hot milk tea.
